safeTALK is a half-day workshop that teaches how to identify people
at risk of suicide and connect them with intervention resources.
safeTALK’s proven, easy-to-follow steps are used around the world.
Most people thinking about suicide don’t actually want to die, but they
need help deciding to stay alive. You don’t need any prior training
to attend safeTALK—just a willingness to make a difference.

Suicide 101
Suicide Prevention 101, formerly known as 'Gatekeeper', is a 2 to 2.5-hour virtual training using data specific to Northern Nevada. This Zoom training increases one's knowledge and understanding of suicide, recognizes warning signs, identifies risk and protective factors, and increases willingness and ability to intervene with a person at risk for suicide. It will provide insight for interacting with survivors and identifying referral resources.
When registering for this class, please ensure you are able to attend, and do not register for multiple classes at the same time.
Access to video is required, and your camera must be active throughout the class. If you do not have access to individual video while on Zoom, you will be asked to leave the class, and invited to take part in a future class instead.
